Co-op Food Justice Committee Meeting!
The Co-op Food Justice Committee will meet Wednesday, July 22, at 7:30pm on Zoom. Owners, for Zoom access please e-mail Jess at kuhn.jessica@gmail.com.
The FJC is an Owner-led committee that will create an “Action Plan for Food Justice & Combating Racism in our Co-op.” That document will be given to our General Manager to implement its recommendations at our community-owned grocery store. Committee work will include:
– Outreach to the FJC’s established list of local organizations serving marginalized residents to determine needs and create a Food Justice plan.
– Drafting direct actions to combat racism in our Co-op Community and fulfill Cooperative Principle #1: Building a food co-op that is “open to all people able to use its services and willing to accept the responsibilities of membership, without gender, social, racial, political or religious discrimination.”
