Recipe: Baked Hake With Lemon

We love Chatham Harvesters, a fishing co-op owned and operated by Chatham’s fishing families. And this week we brought in delicious hake, a great cod alternative with that same soft, white, flaky texture and slightly sweet meat.

Grab some this week from the Assabet Co-op Market and try this simple recipe. Pair it with a cold local ale from Amory’s Tomb or even a chilled local Reservoir Rose from Hardwick Winery, both available in our beer and wine cooler.

Baked Hake With Lemon
Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Chatham Harvesters Hake Fillets
  • Juice of half a lemon, reserve lemons for serving
  • 1/8 t Salt
  • 1/4 t  pepper

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Place parchment paper on a baking sheet.
  • Rub fillets with salt and pepper and place on sheet.
  • Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until the fish’s internal temperature is 145 degrees.
  • Squeeze half a lemon over all and garnish with lemon slices and serve. Enjoy!
