Elena and Karl (Co-op Owners!) started farming in 2004 and 2005 and launched their first farm, Crooked Row Fields, in 2013. In 2018, after being introduced to Dwight Sipler, Elena and Karl took over ownership of Small Farm. They sell organically grown produce (certification pending) and have added two CSA programs, PYO flowers, and a fantastic seedling sale to go along with previous offerings of a seasonal farm stand. They also found the time to get married on the farm with family and friends in 2019.

Karma Coffee Roasters

Karma Coffee is a local, small-batch coffee roaster specializing in ethically sourced beans from around the world. Owner David Conboy travels to remote regions of the globe – literally hiking miles into the Peruvian mountains, for example – to source hand-selected beans directly from farmers. By cutting out the middlemen, he can pay farmers fairly, which helps them support entire families and villages that would otherwise be exploited. Back in Sudbury, he hand roasts his beans to perfection.

Hudson Hives is a small family-run apiary located in Hudson, where beekeeper Stephen Burney (a Co-op Owner!) raises honey bees using sustainable practices; harvesting honey in small batches the old-fashioned way. Stephen’s bees forage his biodynamic herb gardens, collecting pollen and nectar and in the process pollinating the plants, flowers and trees.

Stephen’s wife, Jen, is an herbalist and aromatherapist and handcrafts all the candles, soaps, and lip balms using honey and beeswax from Hudson Hives’ bees and herbs from their garden.
